Successful opening of Netherlands’ largest custom battery factory

Watch the aftermovie now

On Thursday, September 4, we officially opened our new production facility for custom lithium batteries and energy storage systems in Haarlem. During the festive event, customers, suppliers, partners, friends and family took an exclusive look behind the scenes of the largest factory in the Netherlands in this field.

200+ battery systems per month

The plant on Oudeweg has been operational since May and can assemble more than 200 battery systems each month. With this, we are strengthening our role in the electrification of vehicles, machines and buildings – and contributing to a reliable energy supply in Europe.

CEO Vincent Kleintjens calls the opening an important milestone: “With this expansion, we are taking a big step for Intercel as well as for the energy transition. We show how we develop innovative, safe and scalable battery solutions that are ready for the future.”

8,600 m² of innovation and security

The new site has 8,600 m², meets the strictest safety standards (including PGS 37-2) and is entirely Dutch owned. From design and control technology to assembly and security.

With this event, we not only opened our doors, but also took another step towards our mission: To power the future with endless energy.
